Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a coach who will lead, inspire, and strengthen our athletes and programs. The successful candidate will build positive, meaningful relationships with athletes, parents, the coaching team and board members while embracing our mission to grow the sport of artistic swimming.

As An Associate Coach, You Have:

  • Passion for artistic swimming and a genuine interest in the development and success of athletes.
  • Sound understanding of artistic swimming techniques, routines, and rules, and the ability to effectively teach and correct athletes’ skills.
  • Knowledge of Canadian sport frameworks, including the Long-Term Development Framework, True Sport principles, and Safe Sport training (ideal).
  • Providing high-quality level coaching to athletes of all levels, from recreational to elite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to foster positive coach-athlete connections and coach athletes in an age-appropriate manner.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions, feedback, and motivation to athletes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to plan and execute training sessions efficiently.
  • Proven technical coaching ability and a track record of creating safe, effective, and inspiring training environments.
  • Previous experience as a competitive artistic swimmer at a high level is essential.
  • Coaching experience in artistic swimming is preferred, but consideration will be given to candidates with strong technical knowledge and a willingness to learn.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • A current & valid Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Check is required or ability to produce one prior to start date.
  • First Aid & CPR certifications, or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Compliance with relevant ON and Canada Artistic Swimming (OAS and CAS) certification requirements.
  • Minimum Provincial Stream-Level: Artistic Swimming Competition Introduction Certified (or equivalent) or Competition Development Coach trained and compliance with OAS and CAS requirements (or planning to)
  • Ability to travel locally and provincially.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, to accommodate training schedules and competitions.
  • Available from 4 to 20 hours per week, depending on availability and certifications.
